About company
Founded in 2011 and based in Dammam, Isuzu Motors Saudi Arabia (IMSAC) is a commercial-vehicle manufacturer and distributor — a joint venture between Isuzu Motors Limited and Isuzu Motors Asia. Its Dammam plant was the first complete production facility for Japanese trucks in the GCC, building medium-, heavy- and light-duty trucks for the Saudi and regional markets in line with Vision 2030.
Before Tumodo: A process that worked — with room to modernise
An agent-led booking process
Before Tumodo, Isuzu handled business travel through an external travel agent. The team relayed requirements, reviewed the options that came back and confirmed bookings that way. It met the company's needs and ran without significant issues — but it depended on manual, back-and-forth coordination rather than a single system the team controlled directly.
-
Agent-dependent. Each booking ran through a third-party agent instead of a self-service platform.
-
Manual handling. The team spent up to around 30 minutes per booking coordinating options and confirmations.
Experience with other tools
Isuzu had used other business travel tools before, so the team knew the market and had a clear reference point for what a platform should deliver. None had become the default way of working — and the company stayed open to a better fit.
The trigger for change
There was no crisis and no breaking point. Isuzu describes itself as a company that continuously looks for better ideas and improved ways of operating. The move to Tumodo was a proactive choice to raise efficiency and the day-to-day user experience — the team came across Tumodo through social media and decided to try a more modern, streamlined approach.
